{"id":320,"date":"2011-02-10T17:26:22","date_gmt":"2011-02-10T22:26:22","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.fruechtetheory.com\/blog\/2011\/02\/10\/steady-sources\/"},"modified":"2011-02-10T17:38:37","modified_gmt":"2011-02-10T22:38:37","slug":"steady-sources","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.fruechtetheory.com\/blog\/2011\/02\/10\/steady-sources\/","title":{"rendered":"Steady Sources"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The \u201cFermi Sky Blog\u201d can be reached from the Fermi main web page [1], though I guess it doesn\u2019t hurt to note the direct link here [2].<\/p>\n<p>In the \u201cFermi LAT weekly report N. 138 \u2026 2011.January.24 &#8211; 2011.January.30\u201d, we find the following:\u00a0 \u201c3C 454.3 fairly bright for all the week, with daily flux between 2.5e-6 and 6.4e-6.\u201d\u00a0 This type of report has been a fairly common format in the Fermi Sky Blog, with flux levels often being very low, from sources so far away that it leaves one quite impressed with the technology and analysis methods whatever they may be.<\/p>\n<p>Noteworthy is that \u201cFluxes are in the unit of photons\/cm<sup>2<\/sup>\/s above 100 MeV.
