In the scientific community, the cause of gravity is by many still considered as unknown. As Hughes-Hallett et al. puts it in relation to the gravitational force: \u201cHow does acceleration come about? How does the velocity change? Through the action of forces<\/em>. Newton placed a new emphasis on the importance of forces.
